3. Ogura Toast Langue de Chat
Another popular snack from Nagoya with ogura toast flavor is thin crispy cookie. It consists of filling made from white chocolate, red bean paste, and margarine sandwiched between delicate cookies. 6. Nagoya France Ogura & Margarine
Nagoya France is a series of confections produced by a French confectionery in Aichi. Sticky mochi, sweet red bean paste, and margarine are sandwiched between dacquoise. A bit strange combination of delicious foods shows the Nagoya locals' way to enjoy their life. It is delicious and worth trying. These cute hand-made manju are produced by Namikoshiken, a Japanese confectioner established in 1927.The bite-size buns filled with red sweet bean paste or chocolate are themed on animals and marine lives. Another adorable hand-made cake (320yen) is made with eggs of Nagoya Cochin which is a Japanese chicken bred in Nagoya area. Inside of fluffy sponge cake is pudding and Bavarian cream. As fresh it is, it should be consumed within the day purchased. For those who look for one to carry around, Piyorin Sable (shortbread, 10 pieces at 822yen) is recommended. 9. Baked Cakes by Chez Shibata
Chez Shibata is an Aichi-based French patisserie which has shops in Bangkok and Shanghai as well as Nagoya. His cakes including "Les Visitandines"-a representative madeleine like cake- are all delicious. You can buy the delicacy at his Nagoya shop and JR Nagoya Takashimaya department store.
