Book and Bed Tokyo in Ikebukuro: A Book Shop Transformed into a Hostel

Book and Bed Tokyo is a hostel located in a busy downtown within a short-walk-distance from Ikebukuro station. This place is designed to provide quiet and relaxing space to sleep in for travelers from within Japan and abroad. Bibliophiles may fall into a doze while reading. You can find this accommodation on the 7^th floor of a building, a complex of restaurants.

A wide range of reading materials are selected by Shibuya Publishing Booksellers, a publisher, and the number of books will gradually increase. Comic books, novels, guide books, magazines and so on- you may enjoy browsing books in Japanese or in English.

The ladders attached to the bookshelves help you to crawl into your bunks behind shelves.

Their 30 bunks consist of 12 bookshelf-type compartment built behind book shelves and 18 capsule-type compartments. Since the rooms only have curtains as a partition, they don’t provide you perfect privacy but ideal wooden nests.

You can choose from two types of bedding: the Standard and the Compact. All are equipped with power, light and free Wi-Fi. Room charge ranges from 3500 to 5500yen excluding tax. To stay there, you are recommended to check their online reservation page since Book and Bed Tokyo seems to be fully booked out for a while. There are toilets, shared shower and bath room. At their kitchenette, you can make a tea or coffee. The convenient location in the middle of Ikebukuro downtown enables you to dine out easily. You can also bring some ready meals since there are some grill ovens, too.
