Tax-free purchases apply to total purchase amounts of 5,000 yen or more (excluding taxes and after discount has been applied) or 5,500 yen (including taxes).

The floor layout is organized so that customers have plenty of space to comfortably queue at the registers. Once you present your passport or lending permit and pay, your items will be specially packaged inside a dedicated bag (in the case of consumable* tax-free products, like food and makeup, as they must not be opened until you have left the country) or simply handed to you if all the purchased items are general goods such as electronics and designer goods. In this case, you can open and use the items in Japan, but remember that they must be taken out of the country within 6 months from your date of entry.
