What Kinds of Tickets Are There?
In general, there are three kinds of tickets that people can acquire:
・General: The price for these tickets are the same regardless of whether you are an adult, child, or infant. One child under the age of 2 (as of the competition day) can get free admission if they sit on their guardian's lap. This rule applies even with standing seats.
・Wheelchair: Can be accompanied by one person, who will pay the same price and be seated adjacent to the person in the wheelchair.
・Group: Applies to groups of 2 or more that have one of the following: a child age 12 or younger, a senior age 60 or older, or a person with disabilities (wheelchair users included).
The ticket prices depend on the specific event and seat. Rather than listing all of these out, we recommend checking out the official pamphlet. It includes maps of each venue so you can see how much you need to pay to be able to sit in a specific section of the venue.
*If you purchase your tickets overseas, there is a possibility that you may not have access to all three ticket types mentioned here. This entirely depends on the seller, so please enquire with them prior to purchasing a ticket.
How Can I Buy a Ticket If I Don't Live in Japan?
People living outside of Japan are unable to use the official ticket website to purchase tickets until the spring of 2020. However, they can go through Authorized Ticket Resellers (henceforth known as ATRs). For a list of ATRs, click here.
Please note:
→ ATRs can engage with fans in Olympic ticket promotion starting from May 9, 2019. This can refer to a whole range of activities, including "expression of interest" sign ups.
→ ATRs are not actually allowed to commence ticket sales until June 15, 2019. The actual sales date may vary depending on the ATR.
