1. Imuraya\'s Azuki Bar

This is an additive-free ice cream bar with the natural flavors of azuki beans. A popular item that has long been a hit, 250 million were sold in 2015. Unlike the rich sweetness of Japanese wagashi sweets, it has a light flavor that is perfect for the summer. Each bar has approximately 100 azuki beans and is moist and tasty. It is surprisingly hard if you bite into it right out of the package, so be careful not to damage your teeth. Let it melt in your mouth to enjoy the texture of the azuki beans.
*Recommended retail price 100 JPY (excl. tax)

2. Akagi\'s Gari Gari Kun

This is an ice cream bar made as a shaved ice product that children can eat with one hand while playing. It became a huge hit thanks to the price that is low enough for children to buy with their allowance, its size, and the texture that allows children to eat it making "gari gari" noises. Today, approximately 400 million bars are sold annually. In addition to the standard soda flavor that is sold throughout the year, various flavors, such as coke, pear, and lychee, are introduced every two months, so it is fun to expect what new flavors will be introduced. In the past, a corn potage flavor, which is unusual for a sweet, was released and became a huge hit.
*Recommended price 70 JPY (excl. tax)

3. Morinaga\'s Choco Monaka Jumbo

This is an ice cream treat made with monaka pastry, which is used in Japanese wagashi sweets. It is sectioned into 18 small cubes that are easy to break off and eat in various sizes. Take a look at the cut portion and you\'ll see that it is filled to the edges with vanilla ice cream, with a crunchy chocolate in the middle. It is designed so that you\'ll get a taste of chocolate regardless of where you start eating. The inside of the monaka pastry is coated with a thin layer of chocolate so that it does not get soggy. It is a filling ice cream treat with a superb balance between the chocolate bar and ice cream.

4. Häagen-Dazs\'s Mini Cups

These are ice cream cups by Häagen-Dazs, the luxury ice cream brand from the US. They are a bit pricey, but the rich flavors that bring out the natural taste of the ingredients are beyond the realm of ice cream cups. There are some flavors sold only in Japan, including seasonal ones, the Hana Mochi series with mochi, and the Japonaise series sold only at 7-Eleven. You\'re considered lucky if you open the cup and see a "Häagen-Heart," a heart-shaped dent in the ice cream. Hopefully your trip is blessed with luck!

5. Glico\'s Giant Cone

This is ice cream in a cone with toppings such as chocolate, nuts, and cookies. This ice cream is made pursuing the great taste of toppings such as nuts, chocolate, and the cone, and creates a complex texture and harmony in your mouth. It is surprising that the cone stays crunchy and flaky till the end, even though it is filled with ice cream. This is because the inside of the cone is carefully coated with chocolate. This is a long selling ice cream treat that can be enjoyed from start to finish.
*Recommended retail price 130 JPY (excl. tax)
