1. Wakasu Seaside Park
Wakasu Seaside Park is a marine park facing the Tokyo Bay. This park offers you a great array of activities to enjoy with the family - you can have fun at the playground, cycle along the shore, and even fish at the breakwater specially designed for fishing. However, the must-see attraction has got to be the dynamic Tokyo Gate Bridge. From boats crossing the sea to airplanes flying through the sky, such scenery unique to seashores permeates the area around here. From sunset to midnight, the bridge’s special illumination presents you with a gorgeous nightscape. And when the air is clear, you can see Mt. Fuji standing beautifully beyond the bridge!
2. Seijo Fudo Bridge
Seijo Fudo Bridge was selected as one of Kanto Region\'s One Hundred Views of Mount Fuji. Lying over the Odakyu Line, this bridge – along with Seijo Fudo Bridge – is famous for offering a beautiful outlook of Mt. Fuji from the urban area of Tokyo. Its design was chosen from ideas submitted by the local residents, and the bridge has become a place within the community to take a rest. At both Fudo Bridge and Fujimi Bridge, you can observe an exquisite phenomenon known as “Diamond Fuji,” that happens on average every February and November when the sun in conjunction with Mt. Fuji’s summit resembles a beautiful shining diamond during sunset.
3. Haneda Airport Domestic Terminal 1 Observation Deck
Haneda Airport has three terminals each with its own observation deck from where you can see the beautiful nightscape of Tokyo, as well as the airplanes take-offs and landings. At the observation deck in Domestic Terminal 1, located on the 6th floor, not only can you take a look at the departing and arriving airplanes from airlines such as JAL, Skymark and Star Flyer, but because the deck extends to the west side, you can also enjoy the view of Mount Fuji. The magnificent outlook of Mount Fuji across the runway and airport facilities lit by the dusk light is something not to miss! The observation deck is open from 6:30 am to 10:00 pm.
4. Sky Carrot Observation Lobby
Located a 3-minute walk from Sangen-jaya Station, Carrot Tower is home to commercial and public facilities, including restaurants, cafes, and the Setagaya Public Theater, a space with approximately 600 seats that holds plays and music events. There’s a place you should definitely check out when visiting the Carrot Tower: the Sky Carrot Observation Lobby on the 26th floor. From here you have a panoramic view of Tokyo’s skyscrapers and Mt. Fuji. The view of the sun setting behind Mt. Fuji is simply superb. The observation lobby is open from 9:30 am to 11:00 pm and is free to enter.
5. Kasai Rinkai Park
Getting in contact with nature, water and people, that’s the theme behind Kasai Rinkai Park. The park has enough attractions to entertain adults as well as children for the whole day, one of them being the Tokyo Sea Life Park, an aquarium where you’ll find Bluefin tuna swimming in a huge tank of 2,200 ton, as well as one of the biggest penguin exhibits in Japan and some other 600 species of marine life. Kasai Rinkai Park also has barbecue areas, lawn fields, and the “Daiya to Hana no Kanransha” (Diamond and Flowers Ferris Wheel), one of the biggest Ferris wheels in the country at 117m high. A spectacular view of Mt. Fuji awaits you at the top of the Ferris wheel and the at artificial beaches, especially at dusk! The Diamond Fuji phenomenon can also be seen from here.
This was a small introduction to some recommended spots in Tokyo where you have a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji. The contrast between Mt. Fuji, airplanes, ships, and Ferris wheels is something only Tokyo can provide! Try and visit these great places on your next trip!
