Strawberry and Shiratama Anmitsu is recommended for those who want to try wagashi (traditional Japanese confections) while in Japan. Anmitsu is a wagashi of small square pieces of agar (a gelatinous substance made from seaweed such as red algae), an (azuki beans cooked with sugar), and a syrup made with sugar and water.
