Cosmos Festival at Kurihama Flower Park

Cosmos Festival: from early September to late October

Kurihama Flower Park boasts one of the largest flower fields in the Miura Peninsula area. The flower fields spread out over the gentle slopes of this hillside garden creating a truly stunning sight. From early September, visitors can see around a million cosmos blossoms in Yokosuka City's Kurihama Flower Garden. To coincide with these days, the park is holding a free Cosmos Festival.

One feature of this Cosmos Festival is its longevity; with four cosmos varieties (Lemon Bright, Sensation, Sensation Dazzler, and Yellow Campus) blooming one after the other, these flower fields remain in bloom all the way from early September to late October. The garden paths seem to pass right into the fields and there are some really gorgeous photo spots as well, so you'll definitely want to check out this hidden gem not far from Tokyo to experience Japan's gorgeous flower fields!

Flower Picking Rally: end of October

On the last weekend of the Kurihama Cosmos Festival, visitors can take part in the park's unique Flower Picking Rally.

To wrap up the Cosmos Festival, visitors can pick their own cosmos bouquet and take them home as a souvenir of the event. If you’re just traveling through the area, a pressed flower from the Kurihama flower fields could make for a really nice souvenir!

Just like the rest of the festival, the Kurihama Cosmos Festival Flower Picking Rally is free for all to enjoy.
