This popular Japanese cafe chain has many branches, so you can easily stop by one during your travels. They offer many drinks and parfaits using matcha, Japanese tea, and red bean, at very reasonable prices. For example, their basic matcha latte is 430 yen. The fragrant matcha goes well with the milk. You can also get drinks to take out, so you can enjoy this hot drink as you walk around in the cold winter.

2. Yojiya Cafe [Shibuya]

3. Kagurazaka Cha-an Honten [Kagurazaka]

This simple matcha latte is made with nothing but Japanese matcha and milk. The sweetness comes from the brown sugar syrup from the Okinawan island Hateruma. Its richness makes the fragrance of the matcha powder stand out even more. The renovated 2-story building was originally an apartment building, so the store interior is also very stylish and calming.

If you want to take a break, this is the place to go as it's in an old residence and has a beautiful garden that you can gaze at as you enjoy your drink. You can get a matcha au lait both hot or cold. Your drink also comes with wagashi, traditional Japanese sweets. Having to take off your shoes before you enter helps bring you into the traditional atmosphere. There are old tea ceremony tools decorating the interior, so if you like antiques, you should stop by!

5. Tokyo Disneyland [Maihama, Chiba]

This is a must-have for Disney fans! This winter-only matcha latte has cute hearts and a Mickey head floating in it. At the bottom of the drink are plenty of red beans. This sweet matcha latte is a very popular drink for those who want to warm themselves up in the cold winter.

This retro cafe was originally established in 1916. It's a cafe that's beloved by many people, from the neighborhood regulars to foreign tourists. Their drink and food menu is very wide, and the matcha latte is just one popular drink. There is a tatami area on the second floor that is extremely comfortable, so if you go up there you might find yourself staying longer than you expected to.
