Nuji

Okinawa/Nago, Okinawa

Delicious grilled seafood in an airy, bright setting overlooking the sea

Their "Charcoal-Grilled Kichiji with Boiled Tofu Skin, Sea Urchin, Snack Peas, and Udo" features crisp slices of aromatic charcoal-grilled "kichiji" (broadbanded thornyhead). The tofu skin absorbs the savoriness of the fish, balancing the rich flavor of the sea urchin and other ingredients perfectly. There are many indispensable ingredients in Japanese cuisine that are difficult to come by here in Okinawa, so they have them delivered directly from the main islands. Especially edible wild plants, a staple of spring, these are packed with savoriness and an elegantly faint, earthy, bittersweetness. Because they have a closed kitchen, it's rare that they get to express the gratitude to guests directly. That's why they have the rice, cooked in the earthenware pots, delivered to the diners directly by head chef. This gives the restaurant a precious opportunity to listen to the voices of the patrons directly. Lunch: 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Dinner: 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Nurukan Sato

Roppongi, Tokyo

Our substantial selection lets you experience the depth and complexity of sake. Enjoy trying them at our comfortable counter seats - great for a date!!

We usually stock around 120 different sakes, all tested and individually selected by our staff. Feel free to try a few, so that even those with little experience of sake can find one they enjoy. We offer tasting platters from different production areas. We have many delicious red king crab items on our menu, which go perfectly with sake. Delicacies such as tempura, Ruibe (frozen sashimi), roast hotpot, and raisin butter are all married perfectly with different types of sake. Manager Kaneko says, "I love it when people who don't actually know that much about sake come and stop by." The restaurant works hard to explain to customers the depth of sake's flavors, which is done by letting them try comparison sets of the same sake at different temperatures. The counter seating is great for couples on a date or groups of women. The staff offers their full support to those who aren't familiar with sake, which lets you have a fun time while getting to drink and compare different types of sake.

Otaru Masazushi Zenan

Otaru/Niseko, Hokkaido

Enjoy our select natural tuna nigiri sushi with a great view of the Otaru canal

The select natural tuna here at Otaru Masazushi comes from large tuna that weigh between 300 and 350 kg. It is very fatty, making it an excellent sushi topping with a flavor hard to find at other restaurants. We search for and serve especially sweet sea urchin, and we do not use alum to preserve the shape, so you can taste the raw, natural flavor. Our shrimp dishes use fresh-caught deep-sea shrimp and button shrimp unless it is seasonally unavailable. We pay careful attention to our customers and aim to create a pleasant atmosphere, serving tea before they have the chance to ask for it. We welcome and cheerfully interact with the many tourists that visit our restaurant. We are the only Otaru Masazushi branch where customers can enjoy a meal with a view. We hope you will enjoy a meal while looking out over nighttime views of the Otaru Canal, beautiful in all seasons.
