1. Omagari Fireworks (Akita)
Omagari Fireworks is Japan\'s leading fireworks competition in which fireworks manufacturers from the country compete against each other. You may see artistic fireworks adorning the sky which vary in shape, color, rhythm, and solidity. 2. Sendai Tanabata Hanabi Festival (Miyagi)
The Sendai Tanabata Festival is held every year in Sendai as a traditional event from August 6 to 8. Before this night festival commences, the locals hold the Sendai Tanabata Hanabi Festival. Here they launch the beautiful fireworks created by the manufacturing company that represented Asia at the World Five Continents Fireworks at the Sydney Olympic closing ceremony. The Noshiro Port Fireworks Festival features a program centering on star mines, which are continuous firework launches. The main fireworks of 2017 would be the 3 shaku-dama (a giant firework with a diameter of 550m) which will be launched twice, the only time this happens within Tohoku; the giant ball which launches 100 times in succession; and the wide star mine which stretches to 1,000m. 5. Sukagawa Shakado River Fireworks Display (Fukushima)
This is a fireworks display held every year from the middle to end of August. The 10-gou dama fireworks that turns into a giant ring of flowers in the sky, the giant star mine, and the 150m Niagara (a beautiful firework that resembles a waterfall in the form of light showers). Aside from these fireworks, there are also some others that bring color to the night sky, such as the fireworks launched with music, the music fire, and the competition among famous firework manufacturers.
