【2018 Edition】The Five Best Beer Gardens and Beer Halls in Osaka
If you want to cool off during the hot and humid Japanese summer, try going to beer gardens or beer halls to quench your thirst with an ice-cold beer. In this article, we introduce five such spots in Osaka.

1. SHRIMP SHRIMP Hankyu Umeda Branch
This is a restaurant specializing in shrimp dishes in the Chaya-machi area, which is always crowded with young people. It serves a wide variety of shrimp procured domestically and internationally. There are also lobsters swimming around in the large fish tank in the restaurant, and customers can pick their own lobsters using a grabber and have them cooked in the manner of their choice (Grab Your Own Lobster (for 2-3 people, about 3,000 JPY)). There is also a range of alcoholic beverages that go well with the food, including craft beers such as beer served at -2℃ - 0℃, a variety of ales, and lager. There are multilingual (English) menus.
2. Hankyu Top Beer Garden
This is one of the largest beer gardens in the Kansai Region, and opens seasonally on the rooftop of the Hankyu Terminal Building, which is connected to Hankyu Umeda Station. Here you can enjoy all-you-can-eat-and-drink for a set amount of time. The food is prepared in an exciting and lively manner to take advantage of the outside setting, and the meal includes about 25 items, such as Bone-in Meat BBQ Style, Dutch Oven Chicken, and Mushroom Risotto. There are also more than 50 different drinks including domestic beers, sake, and cocktails. Additionally, there are special seating options, such as the Couples Seating, limited to five couples per day, and the Glamping Corner, which can accommodate up to 22.

3. good spoon JO-TERRACE Branch
This restaurant, which has an airy terrace overlooking the symbol of Osaka, Osaka Castle, offers a wide selection of food and drinks to enjoy. The All-you-can-drink BBQ Course (5,000 JPY (incl. tax) and up per person) and the voluminous Meat Platter (regular *serves 2 - 4 people: 3,200 JPY (excl. tax) and up) of the chef\'s selection of beef grilled on charcoal and in the oven are recommended. The wide selection of craft beers, which include ales with flavors evoking white wine as well as rich and bitter lagers, are popular. There are foreign-language (English) menus and staff who speak English. Let the staff know if you are interested in vegetarian dishes.
4. Sorairo Terrace Abeno Q\'s Mall Branch
This is a beer garden with an airy terrace and a view of a garden in the popular shopping building Abeno Q\'s Mall. The all-you-can-drink menu covers approximately 60 different drinks, including beers, wines, and cocktails. There is also a full selection of food, including all-you-can-eat homemade pizza made in a 500℃ stone oven (available Monday to Thursday), barbecue of three types of meats including beef rib roast steak, and fresh vegetables.

5. molto!! Umeda Branch
This bar, a short walk from Umeda Station, is popular for its nighttime views of the Osaka skyline from 127m above ground. It has 24 craft beers from around Japan on tap. The best way to try them is the Three Beer Flight (1,280 JPY (excl. tax)). There is also an all-you-can-drink plan, as well as a variety of domestic wines and a wide selection of food, such as smoked items and homemade sausages that go perfectly with the drinks. There are foreign-language menus (English).
